Different types of energy resources

There are many ways to obtain energy resources. The Earth is the primary source of energy resources. These resources could include wood and agricultural waste as well energy crops. Landfill gas can also be used. These resources are diverse and may require individual management. This can be solved by treating each resource individually.

Natural resources

Renewable resources are those that can be replenished. Nonrenewable resources can only be used once they are exhausted. Metals, like iron, are nonrenewable since they cannot easily be replaced once they are mined. As the population grows, so does the demand for renewable energy. While fossil fuels have been used as energy sources since the late 1880s, renewable resources are only becoming available in increasing amounts.

Natural fuels

Natural fuels are among the oldest sources to energy. The use of coal as an energy source was long-standing. However, renewable energy sources make it less attractive. However, many countries are shifting away from fossil fuels in favor of more renewable sources.

Oil

Oil is a natural resource that can power many industrial processes. The downsides to using oil are numerous. The first is its limited supply. The oil reserves around the world are rapidly diminishing, and the oil price is constantly rising. The environment is also a disadvantage. Extraction of oil pollutes our oceans and causes grave damage to marine life.

Hydroelectricity

Hydroelectricity is an inexhaustible and renewable source of energy. It works well in combination with other renewable resources such as solar power and wind energy. In addition, it is one of the most flexible forms of energy generation. It can be set up and taken down in just two minutes. This makes it a great choice for balancing production levels during the day.

Bioenergy

Bioenergy is a renewable resource that can generate heat, electricity and other energy. In 2016, the world's bioenergy capacity reached about 110 gigawatts (GW), accounting for around 2% of total global electricity generation. During this same time period, capacity additions averaged between five to seven GW each year. Bioenergy is a cost-effective resource that can be used to meet the demand for renewable energy.

Nuclear energy

Nuclear energy is a renewable energy source that can generate electricity without emitting pollutants. It's used for space exploration, sterilization of medical equipment, desalination of potable water, and radioisotopes in cancer treatment. It is also used to support clean air initiatives and combat climate change.
